are the parts used for this project. I got most of them
all at Home Depot for about $11.00. (much better
than $100+). And the Filter was about $43.81

here
is a picture of the old air intake..
a.k.a. big ass box of wasted space |
 |
| the
picture is backwards, but this is what it will look like
when it is complete.. I'll have to add the air filter on
the end.. It's currently on order. |
 |
| I
sanded the PVC pipe with 60-grit, and then 120-grit to get
it ready for painting.
I
also sanded down the lines on the connector piece so it
would give it a better flowing look to it when it was all
connected together. |
 |
| After
putting about 3 coats of paint on it, I realized that the
120-grit sand paper was just not enough to do the job..
I'll
proally sand it some more with some 220-grit paper and then
eventually get some 400-grit paper on it. |

| Here
is a shot of the pieces of pvc pipe put together |
 |
| Removing
the old air box was simple.. You can see two green arrows
here. The on on the top is an actual screw and nut fixture
that bolts the box down, the one in the middle is just pressure
fitted there.. Give it a little tug and it'll come right
up.
NOT
PICTURED there is one more pressure fitted screw holding
down the fixture. It is located underneath the air box.
and you can see the screw in the next picture. |
|
| From
the text above, if you are looking for the screw that holds
the air box from underneath, look at the windshield container
and follow straight down and you see a little gray spec
in the picture. Thats the other screw. |
|
| I
shaved some of the plastic around the plastic piece on top
of the TB. This is to make the rubber surround fit better. |
 |
| Here
is a combo shot of the before air filter and the one that
I made... Much different. |
